The Catawba 60 Inch Tractor Rake Grapple is built for landowners, farmers, and operators who need more width, more reach, and more capacity than a smaller compact tractor grapple. Made from 3/8" Hardox® 500 Tuf steel, this 60 inch tractor grapple is designed for clearing brush, grabbing logs, moving rocks, pulling roots, cleaning up storm debris, and handling tough property maintenance jobs. If you need a heavy-duty tractor grapple with a strong strength-to-weight balance, the Catawba 60 Rake Grapple gives you the bite, jaw opening, and durability needed for demanding front-end loader work.

Customer Review Highlight

“After much research, I purchased the Catawba 60 rake grapple because of its relatively light weight and great reviews. I soon found out that not only is this grapple rock solid, so is the company.” — Robert Smart

55 vs. 60 Rake Grapple: Which One Do You Need?

Choose the Catawba 55 Rake Grapple if you want a lighter, more compact tractor grapple for smaller tractors, tighter spaces, and loader-capacity-sensitive work. Choose the Catawba 60 Rake Grapple if you want more width, more reach, and more capacity for larger brush piles, logs, rocks, roots, farm cleanup, storm debris, and heavier property maintenance jobs. The 60 inch model is a strong choice for tractor owners who want a larger heavy-duty grapple while still keeping a good strength-to-weight balance. Notice: *A Third Function Kit is required to operate the hydraulics on the grapple*

I like the design of the grapple. Used it about 6 hrs so far. Only complaint is the QA mounting bracket metal is a bit on the light side. Ours has already bent a little at the top. Using it on a new Kubota L4802 tractor.

After much research, I purchased the Catawba 60 rake grapple because of its relatively light weight and great reviews. I soon found out that not only is this grapple rock solid, so is the company. There was a small hiccup in the shipping to the nearest Estes terminal that was addressed and solved by the Catawba team, quicklyand painlessly. Estes - Texarkana did not have a way to load the grapple on my trailer, so the Catawba team had them deliver to my house. Once received and installed, I have put the grapple to the test and it has exceeded my expectations. If you're looking to purchase a heavy duty, made in the U.S.A. grapple, don't hesitate in doing business with this company. Their products and customer service are both top notch!

After reviewing almost every grapple on the market, I purchased and had this one shipped all the way across country to California (know, I know, I can’t stand our politics either) to be paired with my Branson 3015. Our property is in the Sierra Nevada mountains and has many granite boulders, large pines, oaks and sagebrush. One of the biggest selling points of this grapple was the fact that it could pinch tight down on the small sagebrush as well large things. After gripping and pulling out a 24” pine stump I was comply shocked! I then proceeded in picking up several granite stones that were excess of 1500 pounds and the grapple just didn’t care. After running the grapple HARD for two days straight, I was expecting to find some damage. It is in perfect condition. Hydraulics are extremely powerful and I couldn’t be happier! I would have this shipped across country again and again. If there was an option for six stars, they would get it! Great tool!!!
Catawba, You have earned my business and I will always check you first for future implements.

I ordered the grapple on a Friday afternoon and picked it up at the freight terminal 8 days later. Pretty impressed by the quick order placement/shipping cycle.

The grapple is a heavy duty, quality built unit. Welds are nicely done and the design is great. I have used it to clean up several downed treetops and brush with my 55hp tractor. Operates smoothly and has plenty of clamping power. I can enthusiastically recommend this unit! I love that it is American built and will look to Catawba for future implementation needs.

★★★★★
Fast shipping is an under statement, 19 hours after ordering it was sitting on our dock and it is a beast! Exceptional quality materials and great job on the welds. The tractor will probably tear up before the grapple will. Extremely friendly folks when I called to order. I can highly recommend these folks

I have the 60inch grapple I have used it in logging and pushing brush out of the way and it is working great very strong I think my loader would break before this grapple would.i have it on a mf 2607h 73hp.i got the heavy duty forks also and old have one small complaint but it's probably good that it's this way not much play side to side when hooking it up you got to be dead on but not that big of deal.overall very pleased they both are put together like someone that cares did the work.

First, what a great company to deal with!!! Cody answered all my questions and was very patient with me during my research. Once I decided to move forward with the purchase, again Cody was awesome to deal with. The grapple was shipped very quickly and just the overall experience with the entire CA staff was excellent. I can't say enough good things about the entire process.

Now, let's talk about the grapple itself. What a beast!!!!!! After spending 2 full days cleaning up some acreage I can honestly say that I am 100% happy with my purchase. I feel like this grapple is built like a tank and will take whatever i put it through. If you are in the market for a grapple look no further than this company.

Thanks Cody & CA staff for such a great product and purchase experience!

I got the chance to use my rake grapple this past weekend. I did a bunch of research prior to ordering and boy did I make a great choice!!!! It is a great balance of weight and strength. I had some huge brush piles to move and also logs in my grove, I was able to grab and where needed rip a tangled mess out of the ground.

Prior to my purchase, I reached out with a question, and got an answer right away! Thanks Cody! My order was shipped same day and arrived well packaged. I look forward to my next weekend using the tool. Great product Catawba!!!!

Using it with a 75hp tractor. I am sure I have thoroughly abused it removing trees and pulling some stumps. Has performed well. No bending or flexing. The reason I initially purchased it was for the weight savings. Money well spent.

I was looking for a new grapple over the past couple months and decided on the Catawba 60 Rake Grapple. Shipping was fast via Estes. It is built so solid! My LS MT240 would break before this grapple would. I’ve pushed it as far as I ever would (I don’t want to hurt my tractor), and it performs flawlessly! Thanks Catawba!

PS: Thanks for the hat too!

Very well built grapple! I did a ton of research and looked at several grapples locally. Ended up buying a Catawba 60". Everyone at Catawba was great to deal with. Communication was very good and shipping was fast. Definitely recommend especially if you're looking for a well built, american made grapple!

The equipment I purchased was the 60” rake grapple. I am very pleased with the product. Also, very pleased that I got it in a timely fashion, that was fantastic. I did notice that the left QA bracket only had a tack on the inside, and not a weld as the other side. I don’t see it as a major issue by any means just something that got by QC. Would like to attach a pic, but don’t see any way to do that. So anyway, thanks for a great product!

60" Root Grapple 4 star- but could go to 5 after working it a bit.

I haven't had a chance to really use the grapple yet, but a couple initial thoughts after unpacking and hooking up:

Seems well very made- bravo!

Grease fittings were not greased, so I did that.

Fittings were as advertised- fit my 1/2" ag fine. Pretty close fit on the skid steer hookup, though; I have a Yanmar YT347 and have maybe an inch clearance. Whew!

It opened and closed. Awesome!

I had to change the hoses to work in proper manner for my 3rd function buttons (I know this is a preference thing- so no hits to you guys), but I noticed two hoses at the Tees leaking where they fit into the feed lines. IDK if you test the grapple prior to packing, but I hate leaks. :) I tightened them and they stopped- no biggie.

I think it would be REALLY good idea if you had plugs on the hydraulic lines, especially for shipping. Mine had none...at least when I unpacked it.

The wrapping on the hook-up hoses is a great touch- WR LONG sends them naked (4in1 bucket).

Hat is really nice; my bald head gets sunburned pretty easy. :)

I'll give more feedback when I have a chance to really dig in. I cut timber on 60 acres and it's a mess- so this thing will be getting a workout soon.

Was thinking about starting a U tube channel (I mean, everybody has one now, right?)- will send videos if I can get going with it.

Got the 60” grapple. Extremely happy with it. Especially its ability to pick up small items. Almost any grapple can pick up a log, but a thin line of leaves or grass? No problem with this grapple. I even picked up a single T-post with it.

As for suggestions, I have only one: the hydraulic hoses are too short. They work, but I’ve got to be careful to not catch them on a quick release lever. Being short, they are not flexible enough to loop down enough between the grapple and loader arms. Had to dismount twice to pull one hose (because both can’t fit over the lever) away from the quick attach lever. I’ve disconnected them, twisted them and reconnected them. But eventually, they twist back around. Other than this small issue, if I had six tractors, all six would have this grapple! It’s extremely strong and has a clamping force that’s second to none. I appreciate your company building a better grapple than anything else on the market, present or past. Any other implements I have a need for in the future will come from Catawba Attachments!

Thanks again for asking for my opinion and input on this grapple.

Common uses

What Can This Tractor Grapple Be Used For?

Wider Compact Tractor Brush Cleanup

  • Use the 60 Inch Tractor Rake Grapple to grab, lift, and move larger brush piles, limbs, vines, roots, and overgrown material with larger compact tractors.
  • The 60-inch width gives more working coverage than the 55 inch model while keeping the page focused on tractor loader cleanup work.
  • A strong fit for clearing wooded edges, field borders, trails, fence lines, driveways, and rough areas where a standard bucket does not control loose material well.

Logs, Roots, and Heavy Debris Handling

  • Move cut logs, loose roots, limbs, and bulky cleanup debris after clearing, trimming, storm work, or property maintenance.
  • The grapple lid helps clamp uneven material so it can be lifted, carried, stacked, or moved away from the work area.
  • Use tractor and loader capacity as the limit when handling heavier logs, dense brush piles, root balls, or mixed debris.

Rock and Rough Material Cleanup

  • Pick up rocks, rough debris, and mixed cleanup material from fields, trails, wooded lots, rural driveways, and work areas.
  • The rake-style lower tines help gather larger material while letting loose dirt and smaller material fall through.
  • Best for loose rocks and debris that can be clamped and carried within the safe lift capacity of the tractor and loader.

Storm Debris and Brush Pile Removal

  • Clean up fallen branches, limbs, brush piles, small logs, and scattered debris after storms or tree work.
  • The wider 60-inch grapple helps move more material per pass when the tractor has enough loader capacity for the attachment and load.
  • A practical fit for farms, rural properties, trails, wooded lots, and property maintenance work after weather damage.

Field Edge and Wooded Lot Cleanup

  • Maintain field edges, wooded borders, fence lines, hunting trails, farm lanes, and overgrown areas where brush and debris collect.
  • The 60 inch size gives larger compact tractors more reach and coverage than smaller grapple options.
  • Useful for cleanup work where material needs to be grabbed, clamped, carried, and stacked instead of pushed into piles.

Step-Up Capacity From the 55 Inch Grapple

  • Choose the 60 Inch Tractor Rake Grapple when you want more width, more reach, and more material coverage than the 55 inch model.
  • It is a good match for larger compact tractors that can safely handle the added grapple size and the material being lifted.
  • If loader capacity or tighter working areas are the priority, the 55 inch model may be the better fit.
Questions & answers

Catawba 60 Inch Tractor Rake Grapple FAQs

What size tractor is the 60 inch rake grapple best for?
The 60 inch rake grapple is best for compact and utility tractors with enough loader capacity to safely handle the attachment and the material being lifted. Always compare the grapple weight, load weight, and your tractor loader capacity before buying.
Is the Catawba 60 Rake Grapple a good grapple for tractors?
Yes. The Catawba 60 Rake Grapple is a strong choice for tractor owners who want a heavy-duty grapple with a good balance of strength and weight. It is built from 3/8" Hardox® 500 Tuf steel and weighs 415 pounds, giving it strength without adding unnecessary loader weight.
Is the 60 inch rake grapple wider than the 55 inch model?
Yes. The 60 inch model gives more working width than the 55 inch model and can be a better match for larger compact tractors when the loader capacity supports the added size.
What is the difference between a rake grapple and a root grapple?
A rake grapple is designed with lower tines that help rake, scoop, grab, and carry brush, roots, rocks, logs, and debris. A root grapple is a broader term often used for grapples built to dig into and grab roots, brush, and rough material. The Catawba 60 Rake Grapple fits naturally in the root rake grapple category.
Can this grapple pick up logs and brush?

Can this tractor grapple move rocks?
Yes. This tractor grapple can move rocks and boulders within the safe lift capacity of your tractor and loader. Its lower tine spacing and strong clamping design help grab and carry rocks during land clearing, field cleanup, and property maintenance.
Does the Catawba 60 Rake Grapple require a third function valve kit?
Yes. A third function valve kit is required to operate the hydraulic lid on the grapple.
Is the Catawba 60 Rake Grapple quick attach compatible?
Yes. The Catawba 60 Rake Grapple uses a Skid Steer Quick Attach hookup.
Should I choose the 55 or 60 inch Catawba Rake Grapple?
Choose the 55 inch grapple if you want a lighter grapple for a smaller tractor or tighter working areas. Choose the 60 inch grapple if you want more width, more reach, and more capacity for brush, logs, rocks, roots, and heavier cleanup jobs.
