Catawba Extreme Duty Skid Steer Root Grapple — Built for Brush, Logs, Roots, and Debris

The Catawba Extreme Duty Skid Steer Root Grapple is built for operators who need a heavy-duty attachment for grabbing, clamping, lifting, and carrying brush, logs, roots, storm debris, and bulky land clearing material.

Built for 75 HP and larger skid steers, this root grapple uses a heavy Hardox® 500 Tuf structure, reinforced tubing, covered hydraulic lines, welded cylinders, and a wide grapple opening to handle demanding cleanup and material handling work.

If the job is digging, prying, trenching, or breaking loose roots and small stumps, the Extreme Duty Stump Bucket may be the better fit. If the job is loading loose dirt, gravel, or debris, the Extreme Duty Low Profile Bucket is the better option.

The Catawba Extreme Duty Skid Steer Root Grapple is used for grabbing, clamping, lifting, and carrying brush, logs, roots, storm debris, and bulky land clearing material.
How is a root grapple different from a stump bucket?
A root grapple is built to grab, clamp, lift, and carry irregular material like brush, logs, roots, and debris. A stump bucket is built for digging, prying, trenching, and breaking loose roots or small stumps.
How is this root grapple different from the 66" and 72" high horsepower rake grapples?
The skid steer root grapple is focused on grabbing and carrying brush, logs, roots, and debris. The 66" and 72" high horsepower rake grapples are size-specific rake grapple options, with the 66" model better for narrower working areas and the 72" model better for wider cleanup coverage.
Does the skid steer root grapple require hydraulics?
Yes. A third function kit or compatible hydraulic circuit is required to open and close the grapple lid.
What jobs are best for a skid steer root grapple?

Is a root grapple better than a low profile bucket for cleanup?
A root grapple is better when the material needs to be grabbed, clamped, and carried, such as brush, logs, roots, and storm debris. A low profile bucket is better for scooping, loading, grading, and moving loose dirt, gravel, or debris.
